The President of Valoria (French: Président de la Valorie) is the head of state of Valoria, and Commander of the Armed Forces of Valoria.
Founded in 2014 as a successor to the crown, and considered a spiritual successor to the governorship-general, the presidency is responsible for foreign policy and defense. The office oversees the presidential cabinet, which includes the secretaries of the departments of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Commerce, and National Security. The president also oversees a number of independent agencies, such as the Valorian Space Agency.
The president is of equal official rank to the prime minister.
The president's official residence is the Executive Mansion. Their office is in the East Wing, a term which has since become synonymous with the presidency.
Since February 1st, 2021, the office has been held by Benjamin Radcliffe.

Election
The president is elected by plurality vote for a three-and-a-half-year term. The next presidential election will take place in July 2024.

The president, alongside the prime minister, has the power to grant pardons.
The president is also empowered to confer certain awards and orders. Since 2018, the president's consent has been required to confer the Order of the Osprey, although the abilities to nominate candidates and formally award the merit remain unique to the prime minister.
Impeachment & Succession
The president is impeachable by a two-thirds majority of the National Assembly. To date, no motion to impeach the president has ever been drawn against the sitting officeholder.
In case of death, incapacitation, impeachment, or resignation, the president is succeeded by the vice president.
