The Assembled Chiefs of Staff (French: les chefs d'état-major assemblés) is the seniormost board of the Valorian Armed Forces, formed by the chiefs of staff of each of the five branches, as well as the military's chief of logistics and the CGAFV, whom chairs the group. This group comprises the seven seniormost officers in the military, and serves as the principal advisory body to the president and secretary of defense.
As all members of the Assembled Chiefs of Staff are based in Boston's AFV-HQ, the group meets often to discuss and organize Valoria's military operations, and is the principal advisory body to the president and secretary of defense. Holding operational authority over the entire military, the group is considered to slightly outrank the Assembled Commands, as all member officers are based in Boston, and thus closer to the Executive Mansion and the military's civilian leaders.
Roles and responsibilities[edit | edit source]
The Assembled Chiefs of Staff, based in AFV-HQ, serve as the primary advisory body to the president of Valoria and the secretary of defense on all matters of national security. The individual chiefs of staff are responsible for personnel and equipment training and readiness.
Except for the CGAFV, the Assembled Chiefs of Staff hold no command authority over the Valorian Armed Forces. Command authority instead passes from the president and secretary of defense directly to the members of the Assembled Commands, whom hold authority over certain geographical regions.
