Obviously, an interest in politics, sociology, and history should go without saying. Beyond that, Valoria's origins can be pinned down to a single, foundational character: [[Julia Anne-Claire]].

The concept of Valoria was established sometime in early 2018. At the time, I lived the municipality of Los Cabos, Mexico. 2018 was a [[wikipedia:2018_Mexican_general_election|general election]] year in the country—most states and municipalities held elections concurrent to the presidential contest. Those elections were the first time I truly paid attention to a country's politics, and sparked the interest I have for politics (and the social sciences in general) today. While most eyes were on that year's presidential race, I also looked at our own municipal contest.
